Startup Negotiation Training for 11 B2B Startups – Follow-up Report

Startup Negotiation Training for 11 B2B Startups - Follow-up Report

How do I finance my startup, how do I get good collaborations and what tips and tricks are there for investor negotiations? These are topics that are of burning interest to all startup founders, and rightly so, after all, the financing of one’s own startup depends on many external factors and not only on the idea behind the startup. Therefore, ideal preparation for investor and cooperation negotiations is all the more important. As part of the 9th batch of the accelerator program Startup Wiseguys, one of the leading B2B startup programs in Eastern Europe, konsultori and key2investors (our online platform for professional preparation for investor meetings) together with the 11 selected startups of Startup Wiseguys dedicated themselves to all aspects that need to be considered in 2nd level negotiations in the startup negotiation training.

Startup negotiation training – negotiating properly with investors and cooperation partners

In 2.5 hours konsultori and key2investors worked with the 11 startups methodically and tactically on their preparation and the process of investor and cooperation negotiations. It is very important not to disregard the time dimension and tactics outside the negotiation table and to know exactly when which documents have to be prepared in which form and when which people should be approached with which content. Part of the negotiation training was a 1:1 session, which took place after the workshop and in which the founders could still clarify questions in individual coaching in order to be able to enter into their individual negotiations even more intensively.

It is particularly important to us at konsultori that the participants of the workshop take away as much as possible and can implement it immediately for their startup. It’s even nicer that Sigvards Krongorns, CEO of Castprint, reported back to one of the participating startups about the workshop: “Thank you for the amazing negotiations training today at Startup Wiseguys and great mentoring session!”

Speaking of participants: One of the 11 startups couldn’t be there with all of its founders, so it sent its robot to participate in the workshop streamed. Again, it was interactive: by means of robot presence, one more member negotiated and discussed – this worked wonderfully and was at the same time a new and exciting way of working in workshops.

As exciting as the composition of the participants was, so was the working area. The work was done in the co-working space Teikums in Riga, which was fully geared towards flexible and creative work, offered closed and open meeting rooms, as well as plenty of comfortable and creatively designed space to give room to the numerous trains of thought and plans for the investor negotiations.

The konsultori summary

An intensive workshop, exciting projects based on promising products in the B2B sector, interesting and enriching founders from all over Europe in one of the most pleasant co-working spaces konsultori has been allowed to hold a workshop in so far. Thank you for the productive work in the Startup Wiseguys accelerator program, we are looking forward to Batch 10&11 and wish the founders from Batch 9 an exciting and successful journey with their startups.
