MINTorin wins at the European Forum Alpbach Climate Track
With a powerful pitch, MINTorin secured one of the four main prizes. The initiative inspires girls to become robotics workshop leaders in STEM fields — with a clear focus on sustainability and the SDGs. As part of our collaboration, Franziska Kolk had the pleasure of coaching the team.
🏆 We won! Yesterday, #MINTorin was selected as one of four winning ideas at the European Forum Alpbach Pitch Session in the Climate Track.
– 120 applications
– 12 finalists
– 4 winners: one in each of EFAs main tracks
– MINTorin – one of them.
What’s the idea?
Through our MINTorin Academy, we enable teenage girls and female students in STEM to become robotic workshop leaders — inspiring children through hands-on projects connected to the UN Sustainable Development Goals. They learn to find their hashtag#purpose, lead with hashtag#confidence, and create a future they truly hashtag#believe in. For themselves — and for Europe.
🙌 This didn’t happen by chanceAs I’ve said before in another post:
When you don’t know how to move forward – get the support and inspiration you need. I’m incredibly thankful to ☀️ Franziska Kolk, who coached me via Wirtschaftsagentur Wien and helped me bring out the best in this pitch. This is also your win!🚀 What’s next?
We’re now looking for:
– Funding partners who believe in empowering girls to shape Europe’s future through technology and sustainability.
– One more European partner country to join our pilot starting in 2025.
– Changemakers and connectors who want to bring MINTorin into schools and youth spaces across Europe.Because every child in Europe deserves the chance to be inspired by a role model they can relate to — and to experience what it means to create something that matters.

Fermentful now in over 100 BILLA PLUS stores
After building a strong local network, Fermentful has successfully conquered the Austrian market — a prime example of how persistence and smart partnerships drive success. Konsultori Expert Michael Kubiena also supported the team.
Fermentful is now available in over 100 BILLA PLUS stores across Austria. This is a huge milestone for us – especially because it’s our second attempt to enter the Austrian market. The first time, we failed. Why? We hadn’t yet perfected our recipe or optimized our technology. Our supply chain wasn’t secure. And perhaps most importantly, we entered the market as a foreign company – and we did it alone.
Fast forward to today, and the picture is completely different. Seeing Fermentful on the shelves of Billa Plus is not just gratifying – it’s proof that those early failures were essential. This time, we have:
✔️ A strong local partnership with the amazing team at Clever Clover, who act as Fermentful’s co-pilots and constantly push us further.
✔️ A Fermentful subsidiary in Austria to strengthen our local presence.
✔️ A powerful local network built over the past two years, helping us navigate complexity and connect with major players like REWE.My advice to fellow founders: Don’t go it alone – especially in a new market. Build strong relationships with local partners who understand the system inside out. It’s absolutely critical, especially in the early stages.
Last week, we participated in #ViennaUP, a vibrant and inspiring startup festival in the heart of Vienna. It was incredibly rewarding to hear:
💭 “We already buy this!”
💭 “Thank you for bringing this product to Austria!”…And even more surprising –
💭 “Did you know you’re quite popular on TikTok among hashtag#healthconscious consumers?” (We didn’t – because we don’t even have a TikTok account yet! Time to check it out).
These moments are powerful reminders of why we do what we do. We met Fermentful ambassadors, expanded our network, and felt a deep sense of community forming around what we’re building. Austria is a unique market: high entry barriers, but very high returns once you’re in.
Thank you for supporting Fermentful’s journey in Austria: Heinrich Prokop, Ivana Kulenkampff Thomann, Birgit Polster, Inga Ulmane, Dudu Gencel, ☀️ Franziska Kolk, Marlene Welzl, Naomi Hunt, tech2impact, Michael Kubiena, Martin Pacher, Wirtschaftsagentur Wien, VIENNA REGION | Business Location
