How to use partnerships to bring research results to the market
Technical University of Vienna’s “Innovation Incubation Center” (i2c) has started to give top priority to a new task: Bring research results to market. Alexander Fischl, Tech Transfer Associate of IST Cube, hopes for more internationally successful technology start-ups coming from Austria. For this reason, TU has launched the program “Entrepreneurship for Scientists”. Connecting researchers and academics with business experts is an important initiative.

Entrepreneurship for Scientists
Scientists are good at exploring correlations and developing ground-breaking solutions. But how can they use their research results in the business world? How can you protect uniqueness, develop a business model, build a well-functioning network and market a product?
Konsultori Workshop: Establishing partnership models and conducting successful negotiations
Entering partnerships with great partners has large potential. This can be a multiplying factor on the wealth of expertise, background knowledge, resources and much more. Cooperations can support and boost sales. Petra Wolkenstein held the Konsultori experts’ workshop within the framework of the “entrepreneurship for scientists” series. Participants discussed their individual market entry and partner models for international growth. The focus of this workshop was on partner selection and on successfully turning cooperations into a win-win-win. During the second part, the participants did parallel-negotiations of a cooperation agreement. They received a debrief on negotiation tactics and an introduction to basic negotiation techniques.
Many thanks to Alexandra Negoescu of i2c for the invitation and all the best to all scientists in their next steps of bringing research results to the market!
